FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: East Coast Divers Launches Operation Phoenix Auction to Support Fire Recovery and Rebuilding

Online auction runs September 3-13 with dive gear, travel, artwork, diving history, and one-of-a-kind experiences; September 10 Boston community night will showcase auction art in person.

BROOKLINE, Mass., September 3, 2026 – East Coast Divers has launched the Operation Phoenix Auction, a community-driven online auction supporting the dive shop’s continued recovery and rebuild after the fire that disrupted its longtime operations.

The auction is live now and runs through September 13 at: https://www.32auctions.com/EastCoastDivers2026

Auction items include dive gear, travel, classes, memberships, handmade pieces, original artwork, underwater photography, and one-of-a-kind dive experiences donated by friends, customers, artists, photographers, manufacturers, and partners from across the diving world.

Highlights include:

  • a Dirty Dozen Expeditions trip credit
  • a custom Scuba Force Xpedition SE drysuit built to the winner’s measurements
  • a Jonathan Bird’s Blue World studio tour
  • a Key Largo dive getaway for two
  • a New England Aquarium Cold Marine tour for four
  • signed Brian Skerry ocean books
  • a Simon Morris bronze sculpture
  • SCUBAPRO gear
  • Backscatter gear
  • original photography
  • handmade artwork
  • Andrea Doria silver platter artifact recovered by Bob Hollis and donated by the Hollis family.

East Coast Divers will also host Art, Auction & Community Night on Thursday, September 10 from 6-9 PM at 10 Derne Street in Boston. The evening will showcase original artwork, photography, and handmade auction pieces in person while the full auction continues online.

Tickets are $25 and space is limited.

“This is practical, obviously. We need help keeping things moving while we rebuild,” said Nick Fazah of East Coast Divers. “But it also feels like a very ECD thing: a bunch of divers, artists, photographers, friends, and slightly unreasonable people deciding that the answer is to make something good together.”

Funds raised through Operation Phoenix will help East Coast Divers keep classes running, support the team, replace gear, and continue the work of rebuilding a permanent home for the shop and its community.
