Mendrisio, December 4th 2025 – Bühlmann Dive Watches presents the Bühlmann Decompression 02, a Swiss-made mechanical dive watch designed as the ultimate backup companion to modern dive computers. Crafted with a slim Swiss automatic movement, a 48 mm inclined steel case, and a patented dual-bezel system, the Decompression 02 prioritizes diver safety through precision engineering and uncompromising reliability.
Unlike standard dive watches, the Decompression 02 integrates a mechanical decompression display derived from the Bühlmann ZH-L16B algorithm, allowing divers to time stops using a unique Twin Safety Bezel that separates total dive time from decompression timing. This technical architecture, combined with water resistance to 575 m, positions the watch as a true backup companion to modern dive computers.
The project is endorsed by DAN Europe, which recognises the watch as a meaningful tribute to Prof. Albert A. Bühlmann’s decompression research and its evolution in current DAN studies on personalised decompression strategies. For every Bühlmann Decompression 02 sold, a fee will be donated to DAN Europe’s Medical Research Fund, specifically supporting the Quest for the Perfect Algorithm — advancing next-generation decompression models that account for individual variability.
The scientific legacy behind the watch spans from Bühlmann’s pioneering work on decompression at sea level, depth, and altitude to decades of collaboration with Prof. Alessandro Marroni, whose work at DAN Europe continues to evolve universal algorithms into personalised decompression strategies. .
